A Leave of Absence

It has been two months since I've last blogged, which I'm fairly certain is the longest I've ever gone without writing anything. The following post will probably turn into just a list of random thoughts. I'm taking most of the day off work today, (I say "most" because I've already answered two work calls and I'm positive I'll have to go to the office at least once) so I thought it would be fitting to pound out some of my random thoughts for the two of you who read this.

Regis and Kelly are doing their show from New Orleans today. I think I would like to go to New Orleans this fall. It's too hot and humid in the summer. I haven't been back since the hurricane, and I'm somewhat interested in seeing the city post disaster. Plus, I'm not gonna lie...the food is freakin' amazing and we can all stand to gain about 15 pounds right?!

It's cloudy outside right now, and there's a chance for rain today. This makes me very happy since I plan on laying around the majority of today. It's rained more in Abilene the past few months than I've seen in a long time. I'm not complaining...we definitely need the rain and I won't complain about it unless it floods. However, the cooler temperatures and frequent preciptation hasn't allowed the pools to warm up just yet, which means that it's now the end of May and I haven't been swimming. Again, I'm not complaining. Lord knows July is going to be so freakin' hot, I'll wish it was May!

If my husband were to cheat on me with another woman, I'm pretty sure our relationship would end. If my husband cheated on me with another woman and she became preganant, our relationship would definitely be over. A lady on The View today took her husband back...and now has a step-child. Better woman than I am.

Ever wonder where you're going to be in a year? A year ago, I didn't think I would be where I am today.

A good friend of mine from college is getting married next weekend. I had many good friends in college, but six of us stood very close. Three of the six are currently married...Kendall will make the fourth. As for the two that remain, it will be awhile until we share the status of being married. Someone asked me the other day if it was difficult for me and Jules to be the last two. I looked at them, laughed and said that Julie and I are competing to see who is the last to get married! Now, don't get me wrong. I do want to get married someday. Just not right this minute. I wouldn't however mind dating someone right now :) It's the summer, so I have more time on my hands!

I want to travel a lot this summer...I WILL lay on a beach at some point in time this summer. I HAVE to! Problem: when do I have time?

I watched the movie Infamous last night. It's one of the movies about Truman Capote and his book In Cold Blood. I enjoyed the movie and I liked it better than the Academy Award winning one released the year before entitled Capote.

Well, this has basically just been a list of ramblings. I'm done for now...let's just hope I have more to write about in the future!

Funny how you thought there was only two of us! ;)

1) Not only am I pretty sure you'd leave your husband if he cheated on you, but I'm pretty sure he'd need to be afraid for his life...

2) Uhh...remember all last year thinking how by March of this year I'd have my own place... Hmmmm...it's interesting how things SELDOM go as planned, huh?

3) You ain't kidding. Summer time is a GREAT time for getting a "make-out buddy"! ;)

4) I'm assuming you meant the 2005 release of "Capote" rather than "Truman." I did see "Capote" and I thought it was pretty good. Haven't seen "Infamous" though. Maybe I'll have to look into that one. Is it an older movie?

5) I think this weekend I'm gonna make you do some Kokology! HA! It's a new fun game I like playing with my friends, because it is a game of self-discovery, and if you dare play it with friends, they have a chance to find out more about you! ;)

not sure if i even want to get married. eek. too much trouble. i think i'll just travel the world with my "friend with benefits," captain jack. we'd make a good pair - rum, eyeliner, and a good vocabulary - how could we go wrong?

furthermore, should i get tired of the captain, i can just send him sailing... and then move on to the next gorgeous pirate (btw, if you haven't seen the new pirates, please keep an eye on how absolutely hot orlando bloom becomes when he puts on that little "pirate bandanna"... k, gotta think about something else...). i have a thing for the bad boys.

that's my ten-year plan. just fyi. you can join me, if you'd like. i'll let you have barbossa. ;) it'll never be dull and you can drink all the rum you want!

I still check too! Hope you guys have fun at Kendall's wedding- unfortunately the new job keeps me from being there. I agree with you and Jules- who needs boys or marraige? I've decided I like my drama free life, and guys just seem to bring drama with them. I'm over it for right now... now ask me again in a few months and it could all change. Katieriggs and her Mom LOVED you at their meeting about the wedding! Just wanted you to know. :)
